The Bigger Picture

 

Hello! I’m Sharon — a long-time primary school teacher who swapped lesson plans for paint palettes to create something a little bit special: The Art Cupboard.

With 17 years of classroom experience, a full DBS check, and a genuine love for all things arty, I’ve seen first-hand just how powerful creativity can be. In busy schools, art often gets squeezed​, that’s why I created The Art Cupboard: a warm, welcoming space where children can explore, experiment, and enjoy the adventure of making art—without the pressure.

Classes take place in my cosy, home-based studio, where children learn new art skills and techniques,  stretch their creative thinking, and develop confidence in a relaxed and supportive setting. It’s not just about making beautiful things (though we do plenty of that!) - it’s also about building friendships, collaborating, and learning to celebrate our differences through art.
